(both string types of the female "jockstrap" contraption)
And who can blame us?
* We arrest hundreds of thousands of people for smoking a plant!
* Our government says that the most destructive weapons on Earth are "Tools for Peace"!
* Politicians that WE elect get into office and do as they damned well please despite the mandate for them to dance to OUR tune, and NOT some big business or rich jack-ass who has bought our government right out from underneath us!
* We don't get overpriced health care, and medicare is taken away, too, and there's talks of cuts to the Social Security
BUT,
* Our politicians get FREE health care for life, FREE retirement pay for life, and guaranteed yearly raises!?!?
.
(and by "our" I mean everybody's leaders; North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and, heck, I'de say Antarctica, too, but while everyone is busy arguing whether or not there's major global warming going on, the damned continent is melting away. Good job of misdirection, political hacks!)
.
.
(and by "leaders" I mean the ones with the most ads in our faces, or most guns, in some cases. Certainly very few of those who lead by example)
.
.
.
oops. Am I going off on those poor, innocent politicians, again?
dang me...

You're describing a generation through the looking glass.
here's the beef...
the comedy of it isn't funny anymore.
At least, not with me.
it is now a goal.
change or announce your intention to drag this nation into a pit.
then we can just avoid voting for them.
(or have i gone silly ?)
Gone silly, not for wanting the politicians to do as they promised. But with an apathetic populous that votes in forgets, those that get put into office become corrupted by the system. A system that the voters have allowed to happen. Three amendments to the constitution would be a start at changing this system of abuse.
1. The Congress or the President shall enact no law that does not equally apply to the Congress and the President as it does to the general populace.
2. The balanced budget amendment.
3. No member of Congress may serve more than two consecutive terms.
Until the voters demand that the people they're voting for implement and uphold the equality between themselves and their constituents. They're going to keep taking and you're going to keep giving.
yes, and perhaps an elimination of the free money they get from big business and rich folk should be quit.
I dare say... the perception of the government being bought IS exactly that... The government being bought.
I like your ideas, Karl. By all means come back oft and we'll howl at the moon, together.
The biggest problem is that Congress and Senate here have hidden their bad deeds in the Supreme Court, and when Legislators are called on it, they just point their fingers at the court and say "They said we could,"
