This one statistic Seems to State Clearly that the US Government Wants People to Die

In 2010, a total of 10,395 deaths, or nearly a third of all motor vehicle fatalities, occurred in speed-related crashes. Based on a nationally representative sample of police-reported crashes, speeding – defined as exceeding the speed limit, driving too fast for conditions or racing – was involved in 16 percent of property-damage-only crashes and 20 percent of crashes with injuries or fatalities. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that the economic cost of speed-related crashes is more than $40 billion each year. 1

These facts have been plainly known since 2008. Vehicles are still being manufactured that travel at velocities as much as twice the posted speed limit in ANY state in the union, including Texas's new 85 MPH highways.
So, in 2010 in the USA, 10395 people were killed due specifically to fast driving, fast cars, and NO action is being taken to reduce the speed which they can accelerate to.
No action is being made to reduce gasoline usage.
No action is being taken to remove these drivers from the roads, except if they are breaking the laws multiple times.

At NO TIME in 2010 did anyone overdose on marijuana, anywhere in the entire world.
In 2010, 853,838 people were arrested for marijuana possession (personal use) or about 50% of all arrests in the USA.
