I've never been comfortable with the Sicilian. My openings and defenses tend to be as bland as possible, though. One of these days, I'm going to put in more effort to study my openings, though.

well, the thing is some really basic KP openings are danged near dead to rights winners for White right off.
Not for sure, of course...
just, sometimes Black is in a 'script' for quite a few moves (Ruy Lopez, Evans Gambit, Two Knights) in double KP games, while the Sicillian gives it some edge in that, well, no. I want some center, too.
